Tails Out is the park finder at OffLeashAustralia.com. Its job is simple: help people find mapped off-leash dog parks, beaches and exercise areas across Australia, understand what is known about each place, and check the original source before setting out.
What the finder includes
The current directory is built from Australian OpenStreetMap features explicitly identified as dog parks or off-leash areas. The import covers every state and territory. Each card links back to its source record, and official details are shown when the source contains a council or operator website.
Names, locations and mapped facilities come from those records. Where a feature has no suburb, Tails Out labels the nearest postcode locality as an estimate rather than presenting it as a verified address.
What the finder cannot promise
A map record is a useful starting point, not permission to let a dog off lead. Council rules, timed access, seasonal wildlife protections, maintenance closures and on-site signs can change after an import. A facility that is not tagged may still exist, and a facility shown in the data may later be unavailable.
Always carry a lead, follow the signs at the location and check the relevant council when a rule matters to your visit.
How corrections work
Every result includes its OpenStreetMap source so the underlying public record can be inspected. If a place is missing or a mapped fact has changed, the fastest verifiable correction is through OpenStreetMap's map correction guide. Changes are reviewed through future data imports rather than silently altering the source on this website.
How the site will earn money
Tails Out is designed to remain free to search. Future revenue may include clearly labelled advertising, sponsored destination guides, relevant affiliate links and paid placements from local pet businesses. Payment will not turn an ordinary listing into a false recommendation or change the underlying park data. Sponsored or affiliate content will be labelled where it appears.
